Carve your own piece

Bonz N Stonz is a boutique carving studio in Hokitika, South Island New Zealand.

We provide a 360° experience that allows you to experience the New Zealand tradition of carving.

In our sessions you will learn about the signficance of carving in Māori culture.

With the help of our master carvers we will teach you carving skills and help you design your own piece to take home.

You can carve a piece from jade, bone, or shell.

Carving prices

As well as carving sessions, you can also buy jade pieces in-store or online from our shop in Hokitika.

You can purchase locally made items with traditional designs.

We have a wide selection of precious stones, including the best of NZ precious rocks: Sacred Pounamu (Jade), the unique and rare Ruby Rock and Aotea.

We also sell ornaments made of Mother of Pearl, Paua and Bones.

You can also buy jade from our online store.
